Panicky parents are threatening to remove their children from a school because two teachers are going on an exchange trip to Kenya - 3,000 miles from the Ebola epidemic zone.
A 60-signature petition has been circulated at Berkeley Primary School in Crewe, Cheshire, demanding the staff members stay away from children after their return for a three-week incubation period.
But the alarm has baffled the school because Kenya is on the east side of Africa and a long way from the danger zone on the opposite side of the continent.

One mother said: “What we’re asking for is for the teachers to stay off school when they get back for the incubation period.”Another mother said: “It is an excellent school, however a large number of parents are concerned about the health of their children as there are teachers travelling to Kenya as part of an exchange system.”
In a letter to parents, headmistress Carolyn Brown said: “We as a school are taking the risk of Ebola seriously.
"We have been awaiting government advice for any changes in the situation before we informed parents.
“There is currently no change in the advice from the government, Foreign Office or the British Council regarding travel to Kenya. There have been no reported cases of Ebola in Kenya.
“There is no more risk of catching Ebola in Kenya than there is in the UK.”
